Create, Change, Move Your Life!

One day as you are conscientiously going through your daily routine on automatic pilot, a lightning bolt of awareness engulfs your conscious with a flood of messages: "This is not what I wanted for my life.", "I am settling.", "This feels like a constant struggle.", "I feel stuck and off track from where I want to be.", "I know there must be something more and that I can have and be more.", "I need to change directions and chart a new path.". The good news is that if you have been presented with these thoughts, you are conscious to your situation and needs, and you have the desire to create a better life for yourself. It also means you are ready to explore the possibilities and opportunities for change.

If you are ready for a change and want to begin creating the design for your new life, here are a few valuable insights to start you on your new journey.

Begin with Your Core Values
When you take the time to identify and get clear on your core values, they will help you set your new desired life on the right path to fulfillment. Ask yourself the following questions to discover what your core values are:

What is most important to you?

How do you want to live your life?

List the top 5 values you want to live your life by.

Understand & Define Your Needs
If we are living in circumstances that are not meeting are essential needs, it will cause distress and unhappiness where we will feel unsettled. However, if we become aware of our needs and plan to create environments that will fulfill them, we will thrive with energy, enthusiasm, and excitement. Examine your current lifestyle or situation and determine what needs are being met and which ones are not. You may want to outline your needs in sub categories based on career, relationship, health...etc. Prioritize the top needs that if met would change your world and make you a lot happier. Highlight these and perhaps write them on a cue card that you can keep handy and look at frequently.

Brainstorm Big Possibilities
Sometimes when you have been in a particular situation for a long time or come through a crisis, it is hard to believe that there could be something new and better on the other side. If you have been in survival mode or discouraged by your current circumstances, it is really important to allow yourself to dream of what might be or how you would like it to be. The brainstorming process is meant to be a place where you can put your wildest, craziest dreams on the table. Allow your creativity to be playful, adventurous, and courageous while you are brainstorming. I put the word 'big' in the sub heading for a reason and that was to encourage you to stretch beyond what you may think is possible, beyond what you may feel your capabilities are, and beyond the average, logical thinking that boxes us in. Sometimes it is beneficial to ask a few of your friends or family members who have completely different personalities or perspectives to share in your brainstorming; this will encourage a diverse cross section of ideas that you may not be able to think of on your own. Have fun with this one!

Know the Emotions of Change
Whenever you begin something new or start down a new path, you will experience a rush of emotions that could stop you in your tracks. Fear, anxiety, discomfort, self doubt, and procrastination will attempt to build a brick wall right in the middle of your path. These feelings may arrive and if you are aware of them, you will be able to raise your shield of defense and conquer them. As you proceed on your chartered course of change, you can use the following approaches to overcome the negative emotions that may arise: explore with a fun, curious, playful approach, go forward with unwavering self belief, be kind to yourself, proceed with courage, and be flexible with your master plan as required.

Create a Master Plan
You will be able to create a master plan only once you have done the necessary self discovery and reflection that will act as your foundation upon which you can build your plan. This master plan will define what it is you want to create, what you need to build it, and how it will evolve. There are many details required here to help you solidify your vision and the design of the infrastructure that must be in place to support it. It is important to seek assistance in this step to maximize your clarity and brainstorm solutions.

Supports for Success
What do you need to support you to be successful on this path? Who do you need support from personally and professionally that will help you be successful? Identify these needs and ask for help from the people who will make the difference.

Open Doors
The first step is always the biggest, but do not let it prevent you from starting on this new exciting journey. Open one door. Just open it and peak in if that is where you want to start. You do not have to step in if you choose not to and you can even step in and change your mind and step back out closing the door behind you. The goal here is to begin, be curious, explore, and step forward.

Put Yourself Out There
We cannot see you if you do not step out in to the light. Be brave, be bold, be persistent!

The fun about Life is...Living it

Do you realise that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids?
If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about ageing that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half.
You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.



'How old are you?'
'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13,
but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life ...... .
You become 21.
Even the words sound like a ceremony.
"YOU BECOME 21... YESSSS!!!"

But then you turn 30. Oooohh,
what happened there?
Makes you sound like bad milk!
He TURNED; we had to throw him out.
There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30,
then you're PUSHING 40.... Whoa!
Put on the brakes,
it's all slipping away.
Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone

But wait!!!
You MAKE it to 60.
You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21,
TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50
and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70!
After that it's a day-by-day thing;
you HIT Monday, June 07, 2010!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30 ; you REACH bedtime.
And it doesn't end there Into the 90s, you start going backwards;
'I Was JUST 92.'

Then a strange thing happens.
If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!' May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'.

2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning.
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever... Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things. Appreciate tiny things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud.
Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love,
whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8.Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips.
Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
